Friday Focus: Holidays in Fredericksburg
Today is our last day of work before the holidays! We are so excited to relax and spend time with our families. There are so many fun things to do this time of the year, so we decided to put together a list of fun things around the area to do.
•Jingle Bell Christmas Rides
–Listen to the jingle bells as the carriage rambles through Fredericksburg’s 40 blocks of historic neighborhoods, where you’ll see the quaint cobbled streets and picturesque architecture. These evening rides are a great way to view the city decorated in its unique holiday charm. On this 60-minute fun-filled carriage ride through historic downtown Fredericksburg, you’ll get to discover the beautiful holiday lights, listen to some holiday music and receive a yummy holiday treat to take home.
• WinterFest at Kings Dominion
-This is the first year ever that Kings Dominion in Doswell, Virginia is having a Christmas themed park. WinterFest is packed with all the sights, sounds, food and experiences of the holiday season. The park shines bright with millions of shimmering lights, a 300-foot tree and lavish displays. Twelve live shows and up to 34 strolling performers delight guests and spread Christmas cheer for all to hear. Festive fun and hands-on holiday activities are located throughout the park, and sweet aromas from special holiday dishes and desserts fill the midways.
-This event is held on December 22nd from 10am-5pm. It is held at the Fredericksburg Expo & Conference Center. Finish up that last-minute Christmas shopping all in one place. With room for 170 vendors, crafters & businesses, you’re sure to find something for everyone on your list. There will be Swag Bags for the first 200 shoppers, a concession stand, face painting, balloon animals, pics with Mrs. Claus & more!!
•Christmas Town at Busch Gardens
–The world’s most beautiful theme park is one of the largest Christmas light displays in North America. Festive food and drink, holiday shopping and heart-warming shows make the spirit of the season come alive. Go to Williamsburg for an unforgettable holiday experience.
•Night Before Christmas Wagon Rides & Story
-Bring a warm blanket, your singing voice, and sense of humor. We will sing holiday songs, while taking a wagon ride through the winter woods. After the ride we will return to the visitor center for hot chocolate and a reading of the classic holiday story, ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas. Reservations are required. It’s only $3 per person or $8 for the whole family.
